Abbey Windows (Taunton) Limited is a fully registered member of the FENSA organisation (Registration Number 30148)
What is FENSA?
FENSA stands for the Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme. It has been set up by the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) and other industry bodies with Government Encouragement in response to the current Building Regulations for England and Wales.
On the 1st April 2002 the replacement of windows and doors came within the scope of the Building regulations for England and Wales. Any replacement of windows and doors in your home are subject to the requirements of these regulations.
All replacement glazing which is installed after April 2002 will require certification to confirm the glazing meets the requirements set out by FENSA. This certification will be required should you ever decide to sell your property. The buyer’s solicitor will ask for evidence of the date of installation, if it is after April 1st 2002 the proper certification will be required. The certification can be obtained from the local authority or a self-regulating FENSA registered company.
